Works of service - Visitations to the home-bound and Aged Care Facilities, monthly Masses in two nursing homes, Rosary is recited in most praesdium parishes weekly, Eucharistic Visitations by members to those unable to attend Masses, Transportation to Mass for parishioners, Rosary recital before funeral Masses and support for families at the wake.
Promotion of the of Mary during the year in parishes, notices in the bulletin, evangelisation and recruitment of new members is an ongoing work by members. Sr Betty Flynn is our extension worker and has visited several parishes to speak with priests and praesdium in their parishes. We have four parishes currently investigating the response for a Legion in their parishes. Two praesidium have the Frank Duff prayer group in their parishes. Divine Mercy Chittering has been slow to get going but Fr Paul Fox is hoping to have a revival there to get it up and going. Each May and October presidium hold devotions to Our Lady with a positive response from parishioners in those parishes that this takes place in. Legionaries hold many roles within their parishes, Lectors, Musicians, Children's Liturgy, Eucharistic Ministers, and Sacramental programs. Armadale, Our Lady Queen of Peace run the "Walk for Mary" each October in conjunction with the Sisters of Schoenstatt. They walk from the parish to the Shrine, praying the Rosary and singing hymns. Sr Lisette welcomes them with cool drinks and afternoon tea with several of the Sisters joining the Walk.
