5th - 7th September 2025    Rosary Bouquet   - 

 Join legionnaires and the community to prayer the Rosary offering our Rosaries to Our Lady.

The Rosary Bouquet is in its 36th year and started in Northam by Margaret and Justin Bowen. In 2015 they passed the Rosary Bouquet to the Legion to continue their devotion to Mary.

17th October 2025   Torchlight Procession Lake Monger  - 

Started in 2000 to celebrate Judy's 10th year free of cancer. Judy and Paul Woodward were devoted Legionaries. The statue was donated by the Di Marco Family.  Join us to honour Our Lady, processing around Lake Monger with Our Lady's statue, reciting the Rosary and singing hymns along with other devotees. People come from all over Perth and we are blessed each year to have priests to lead us in our devotion.

 

Quote of the Month

Above all the vision of Frank Duff concerning the priest and laity can only be understood in the context of evangelisation and the salvation of souls. Both priest and laity must be totally christocentric and the central focus of Christ is the salvation of souls.

Our Lord put it categorically more than once: ‘I came to save sinners.’ Evangelisation is simply cooperating in the work of redemption. It is facilitating a meeting between Christ and another person, bringing the fruits of redemption to others or again putting it very simply, it is helping others get into heaven.

This must be the overwhelming focus of any priest or layperson who would wish to be apostolic. Ultimately there is no evangelisation without focusing on the salvation of souls. Whatever the immediate goals, the ultimate goal of all evangelisation must be the gaining of eternal life.

The Code of Canon Law puts it very succinctly: For all activity of the Church ‘the salvation of souls must always be the supreme law. ‘(Can.1752) This is the identity of interest between the priest and the lay apostle.

Pilgrimage 2025

The day began in Emilia House and a warm welcome by Sr Lisette. Opening prayers were recited while Fr Grant Gorddard heard confessions. The purpose of this day was a Pilgrimage of Hope in this Jubilee "Year of Hope". Mass was then held in the Shrine with the beautiful singing of hymns to Our Lady being heard across the property. Forty legionaries and guests attended from across Perth to this beautiful Shrine site of the Schoenstatt Sisters. The Shrine sits amongst the trees with wildlife roaming freely on the edges of Armadale and being an integral part of the St Francis Xavier parish. After morning tea, Sr Lisette lead us through a beautiful reflection on the Risen Lord in "The Way of Light". Members read the 14 moments that the Risen Lord appeared and the proclamations given. I for one, felt calm and stillness during the reflection, considering playfully the message Jesus gave us and how I could then go on to share with others. We broke for a shared lunch and then closing prayers, about 14 members enrolling in the Brown Scapula and farewells. Our sincerest gratitude to Sr Lisette and Fr Grant for making this a very special day.Being a member of the Legion has added depth to my life, given me a second family and an opportunity to connect with my parish members in a meaningful way. I am sure that everyone who attended this day, went away refreshed and renewed.
